Surviving the Threat: Civilian Response to Trauma and Active Threat Incidents

This course prepares the civilian layperson to assess and treat themselves and others in the event of an active threat incident. Students will partake in classroom, hands on, and scenario based training to gain a basic understanding of recognizing and correcting life threatening injuries. Topics include the basics of blood and blood loss, patient assessment, tourniquet usage, wound packing, chest seals, and patient packaging and moving. Students will finish with an adrenaline pumping drill to drive home the skills and information taught during the course.
